Artist Statement:
The ‘Chahrbagh’ Islamic garden concept as mentioned in Surah Rehman “the beneficient” in the Quran is interpreted as the four gardens of Paradise. It is based on four fold geometric grid.
Dividing a circle into four equal parts as in the four parts.
My artworks for this exhibition is Inspired by the following verses of The Holy Quran and Hadiths (sayings) of Holy Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) :
The trees of Paradise are abundant and good and of many kinds. Allah has told us that there are grapevines, date-palms and pomegranate trees in Paradise
The trees of Paradise are of rich and lush foliage – “With spreading branches” [55:48]
The trunks of the trees of Paradise are of Gold.
The paintings have trees mentioned in the Quran and Hadiths which are the fruits of heavens.
All of these plants were of special feature in Persian and Mughal Charbagh gardens.
