Practice & Perspective

What drives my practice at Alif Se Art is a deep passion for traditional arts and our cultural heritage, especially Islamic art. As an artist, I find joy in the details. For me, this work is a form of worship — meditative and spiritual. I experience a kind of ecstasy in the process of creation itself.

The repetitive nature of Islamic art, drawing circles and connecting lines in search of patterns, keeps me engaged. The constant practice of line work, and never feeling fully satisfied, is what pushes me forward.

Alif se Art reflects a world rooted in  heritage, spirituality, and worship. It’s inspired by nature and the creation of Almighty Allah, expressed through geometry, repetition, and detailed work. The process is meditative, turning tradition and devotion into visual form.

Process & Materials

Alif Se Art uses the same materials employed by the ancient masters. I work with 24ct pure gold and handmade natural pigments derived from semi-precious stones, earth, animals, and plants to create illumination paintings, just as they were made in the 13th century.

Almost the entire process behind Alif Se Art’s work is done by hand. I prefer keeping it fully handmade because I enjoy the craft, and it adds authenticity and value to each piece.

Yes, they do. I usually start with a plan, but I also follow my instincts and let the work evolve as I go. Sometimes the piece takes a different direction, and that’s part of the process I value.

Commissions

Alif Se Art does both — I take on commissions and also create independent work. I do accept commissions as long as they align with my practice and artistic approach.

If you request a commissioned piece, we start with a conversation about your vision. I’ll ask if you have specific requirements, a theme, or ideas in mind, and we discuss the details together.

From there we go over the practical aspects: size, medium, materials, and budget. Once those are agreed on, I begin the work by hand using traditional methods and materials. I keep the process aligned with my practice, and I’ll share updates as needed so you’re part of the journey until the piece is complete.

Creative direction for a commissioned work starts with a conversation. Once we align on those foundations, I prefer to have creative freedom within that framework.

I approach each piece with a plan, but I also follow my instincts and let the process guide the details. That balance ensures the work reflects both your input and the traditional practice behind Alif Se Art.

Acquisition & Delivery

Works by Alif Se Art can be acquired through exhibitions at art galleries, directly via the website, or by reaching out through Instagram DMs.

Works by Alif Se Art are primarily one-of-one, handmade originals. Occasionally, pieces are reproduced in a series of three for special requests or gallery needs, but each remains unique due to the handmade process. A very small number are also released as limited-edition, museum-grade archival prints.

Each piece is one-of-one and handmade, so once it’s sold it stays with the collector. Only limited-edition archival prints or a small series of three, if originally planned, may be offered separately.
