This illuminated manuscript is inspired by the 15th century frontispiece of the Quran produced in Tabriz, Iran, the artwork is a prime example of Persian illumination techniques known as Tezhib. This style is characterized by the use of gold pigments, vibrant blues, and intricate floral or geometric patterns to beautify manuscripts.
Alefiya Abbas Ali is a visual artist devoted to the revival of traditional Islamic arts, reimagining sacred geometry and ornament through timeless techniques and a contemporary lens.
