Concept Note:
The series of works explores the microcosm and macrocosm of the universe through sacred geometry, reflecting on the Quran’s themes of unity and harmony. In the Verse of Light, the Quran states:

ٱللَّهُ نُورُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth
The sacred geometry of the Islamic Arts charts the heavens through its intricate maps of stars and rosettes. Meanwhile, natural pigments such as Indigo and Yellow Ochre are extracted from Earth, and painstakingly made into paints. My contemplations into the earthly and spiritual realms come together through this series as each brushstroke meditates on divine light, celebrating the unity (Tawhid) that binds us. By bridging the macrocosm’s grandeur through the philosophy of the work and the microcosm’s subtlety through the materials used, I present my understanding of the intricate balance and harmony in Allah’s creation, which all comes together as a manifestation of His Light.
