Artist Statement:
“Al-Falak ul-Muhit” is an exploration of the intricate relationships between the cosmos and Islamic geometric patterns. Inspired by the celestial ballet of stars, planets, and galaxies, as well as the geometric patterns in Islamic architecture, this series delves into the symbolic connections between the universe and the intricate patterns that underlie Islamic art. Focusing on 5- to 10-fold geometry, I aim to reveal the hidden harmonies between the macrocosm and the microcosm, reflecting on the unity and beauty that pervades the universe. Through a palette of soothing shades of blue and gentle tones of brown, I evoke a sense of serenity and timelessness, inviting viewers to contemplate the celestial rhythms and geometric patterns that govern our existence.
