Location: Karachi School of Art

Artistic Concept:
The Gardish series explores aging, time, and their quiet imprint on the natural world. Taking inspiration from Shakespeare’s Seven Ages of Man, each work traces a stage of transformation—growth, maturity, decline, and renewal—not in human life alone, but in other natural phenomena shaped by time’s passage.
Rendered in etching and aquatint on zinc plate, the medium itself carries the theme: the plate is bitten, layered, and worn to build depth and tone, mirroring how years mark both surface and substance. The resulting images hold a sense of weight, fragility, and enduring presence, inviting reflection on impermanence and the beauty found within it.
